I absolutely love this piece of a sermon by Jonathan Edwards, called “A Divine and Supernatural Light”
There is a difference between believing that God is holy and gracious, and having a new sense on the heart of the loveliness and
beauty of that holiness and grace. The difference between believing that God is gracious and tasting that God is gracious is as different as having a rational belief that honey is sweet and having the actual sense of its sweetness.
I realized today that I need to get toned. So I am mixing up my workouts to get different muscle groups moving each day. Today my workout was interrupted a million times, but excluding those interruptions I got in about an hour of running and boxing. Calories were good, food choices were mostly good and I did get my green tea in today!!!!! 🙂
I am convicted as I type this, as I know that I do not spend enough time in serious prayer with the Lord. I do feel like I am in communication with Him throughout the day, but I need to fall at His feel, give Him my life, and praise Him continuously in prayer. I need to know that He already knows my prayers, my wants, my needs before I come to Him and I need to pray His will be done and trust that He knows better than I.
How about you? How are you in your prayer life? Rev. Billy Graham (my father in law sent me the whole article that you can check out http://cnsnews.com/mrctv-blog/michael-w-chapman/rev-billy-graham-america-just-wicked-sodom-and-gomorrah-ever-were) recently said, “I tell you, history could be altered and changed again if people went to their knees in believing prayer.”
How often do we believe that God will answer prayer? How often to we truly trust Him to do His will, which may not be what we think the answer is? How often do we pray beyond our bubble…praying for our leaders (whether or not we agree with them), our country’s future, our world?
I encourage you all to make it your lifestyle to go to the Lord in real prayer many times a day.
Another good calorie day, mostly good food choices, but not as many veggies as I should have. And I still can’t get into the green tea! erg! Strength and cardio today equalling about an hour.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
When I read this in my email this morning, I knew I had to share it today! If we could all genuinely say this prayer every day…wow! What a difference our lives would be and the lives of others.
Day 5 was my day off. 🙂
Day 6, today, I did well. Calories were right on and I got in an hour of cardio!
My body is starting to get back to normal now that the dye has been working its way out of my system.
How’s everyone else doing?
I did really well today, except for a couple handfuls of animal crackers. I focused on proteins, fruits and veggies There were some candies in my house all week and I gave into them before I began my new healthiness commitment. I am still feeling icky from the dye, so this eating healthy and drinking more water seems to be helping with that too! 🙂
Psalms 42:11 (NIV)
Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
Hope you are all enjoying the weekend! Keep your eyes to the sky and hope in the Lord!
5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.
“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. 6 “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
I found this today and wanted to include it in my notes about “Prodigal God.” Paul, a follower of Christ, a servant of the Lord, a man whom many have great respect, was once a persecutor and a murderer of Christians. Here is the perfect example of a man changing completely for the Lord…completely! We will meet many Pauls in our lives. We may know some in their Saul stage, we may know the rest after the conversion Irregardless, when we feel self righteous or judgmental about people in this world who have done horrific things…we need to remember God may use them to do great things in the future. We need to pray for the lost, no matter how lost they are.
So not so great on food choices today. I did fine with my calories and workout, but I need to focus more on healthy eating. Today’s workout was kickboxing based. I see better results when I mix up my routine instead of doing the same thing every day
Day 3 = not so successful 😦
