Yes I am still here! Life just recently exploded (nothing serious, just time crunches all around) 🙂
First of all, I want to start with this verse that came in my email a few days ago.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
Talk about a convicting verse! All of our thoughts and attitudes are judged by our SINLESS, PERFECT, Master and Creator. If only we could remember that every day. Remember that not only do we not have any right to judge another no matter how “bad” that person may seem, but how do we stand before our perfect maker knowing that He knows our innermost thoughts, feelings and secrets. We are not called to judge, but we can hold each other accountable…there is a fine line there we must be careful not to cross.
Something else I have been convicted by for quite some time is prayer for children. I have been a pro-life advocate for as long as I remember, but it goes beyond that. We need to do everything we can for children all over the world. Some of us can help them in a tangible way, some in a monetary way, some with prayer. I feel that kids need to be the forefront of prayer…our own childrens’ eternity, babies not to be aborted, girls who are sold, children who are bullied, children who are abused, bullied, taken advantage of, and even killed. Children need to know real love, real hope, real faith. They need to know their loving Father through Him and through us, through prayers and through hugs, through warmth and through clothing, through kindness and through honesty, and through safety. Let’s keep them in solid and consistent prayer.
Now, I also was supposed to put health and fitness on here too, so moving onto that, which is significantly less important than what I have typed above…BUT…we do need to take care of our temples, too…so here we go…
I have been doing pretty well with calories and workouts…I now have a Christmas party to add to the motivation list. 😉 Even if your calories don’t change, you will feel so much healthier if you switch soda for water and add some green veggies. Health is the key, remember. Health and toning is the goal! If you have ever heard the saying “Abs are Made in the Kitchen” that is correct. Granted you have a bit more leeway if you are working out hardcore, but part of being toned is what you put in your stomach. Some foods will help shed fat, while others will put a nice fat layer over those muscles you worked so hard to achieve. Switching up workouts also keeps your muscles on their toes. I have been adding some cardio boxing into the mix, which has been great! Constant moving, squats, arm and back muscles active, and very fun!
OK, off to tackle the day! Enjoy yours!
On October 15, at 7:00 pm in all time zones, families around the United States will light candles in memory all of the precious babies who have been lost during pregnancy or in infancy. Too many families grieve in silence, sometimes never coming to terms with their loss.
If you or someone you know has suffered a miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss due to SIDS/SUID, prematurity or other cause, we hope you will join us in this national tribute to create awareness of these tragic infant deaths and provide support to those that are suffering.
Help us create a ‘wave’ of light across our nation!

I was going to write a long post about abortion and why killing babies is wrong. That last part of the sentence really shouldn’t need explained; it is something a 2 year old would know is wrong…but…I digress. The fact is deep down, you all know that abortion is wrong even if you defend it. Those that defend it merely attempt to justify it.
Just let this sink in…really sink in…according to the laws of this country:
It is a felony (fines and jail time potentials come with this) to tamper with the eggs of a sea turtle.
It is okay to throw away, destroy, etc fertilized eggs of a human and even to go as far as killing the unborn child.
I need an egg explanation as to why turtles (which I dearly love and would never harm) are more valuable to our culture than children (whom I dearly love, would never harm and would do anything to protect). Help me out here…any logical person knows this makes entirely no sense. We need to pray every chance we get for our world to value life again.
My daughter has a Barbie movie in which there is a cat that is referred to as a “doggish cat.” Most likely because it is a tomcat and barks. We all know that cats in Barbie movies are usually girls. 😉
My husband and I adopted 2 tiny kittens a few months after we were married. Non-pet owners will not understand, but before we had children, they were like our babies. Unfortunately for them, after we had children, they lost a bit of rank in the house. 😉
One was abused in her first month of life. The shelter found her on the side of the road with her whiskers pulled out. Stormy was the size of a snowball when we saw her. She loved us right away, but would go into hiding when others would come into the house. She is definitely a cat cat…she has cuddled with me since she could fit in my shoe, but she is a bit overly skiddish and has a mind of her own. She is beginning to warm up to others now…slowly but surely.
Riley was our doggish cat. We chose her from the shelter at the same time as Stormy, and though they look identical, Riley was born at the shelter. She and Stormy were great “friends.” Riley would come when called, would thump her foot when we scratched her ear, would follow us around, and sleep in my daughter’s bed each night (sometimes as the pillow). We even were able to play fetch with her when she was young.
We had to say goodbye to Riley this weekend. Pets are loyal and love you unconditionally, they let you cuddle them when you need comfort and “forgive” you when you ignore them. It is hard to lose a pet, hard to lose anything that has been a positive part of your life for 13 years, but it is even harder when you have small children. They knew she was sick, they knew she was not likely going to get better, but in the end she went much faster than we thought. That is a blessing, especially for her sake. It was hard to watch her in the end. Kids are troopers, though, and though they miss her, they have an ability to put things in better perspective than adults sometimes. Again, I know pet owners, or even simply dog owners, may not understand, but our hearts are heavy this week as we miss our doggish cat.
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
Psalm 139: 13-16
