I absolutely love this piece of a sermon by Jonathan Edwards, called “A Divine and Supernatural Light”
There is a difference between believing that God is holy and gracious, and having a new sense on the heart of the loveliness and
beauty of that holiness and grace. The difference between believing that God is gracious and tasting that God is gracious is as different as having a rational belief that honey is sweet and having the actual sense of its sweetness.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
When I read this in my email this morning, I knew I had to share it today! If we could all genuinely say this prayer every day…wow! What a difference our lives would be and the lives of others.
It is truly amazing that when you visit another blog and decide to post a comment that actually agrees with the initial blogger’s stance, that the initial blogger would turn around and berate you for using the Bible to support your view…AFTER the Bible was already brought into the debate. Really???
How will we ever make a difference as a country if we turn on those who fight for the same thing in which we are fighting?
Anyway, shortly after, in the car, I heard the song I Am Redeemed on the radio. Great song. But this line stood out and I wanted to share:
Then You look at this prisoner and say to me “son
Stop fighting a fight it’s already been won”
