Election

This election has touched many a nerve…including some of mine :).

At the end of the day, we have to get down  to the basics…

  1. We have to pray.  If we pray earnestly, God will lead us in our voting.
  2. We have to remember that He is in charge, no matter who is elected.
  3. We  have to remember:
  • There is not a perfect candidate…there’s just not.
  • There is not one perfect human being…and one human being will lead our country…it’s just so
  • There is one candidate who has more of what you value than the rest…there just is.

For me, I have 3 big reasons in wanting the world to change…and they ride in my car with me everyday.  I want the world better for them, starting with this country.

For me, I also have 3 important values that I display on my car that ride “with me” everyday.  Pro-God, Pro-Gun, Pro-Life.  There is only one candidate that meets all of those criteria.  Not a perfect candidate by any means…but one who wants things to change.

You may have different criteria.  That doesn’t bother me as much as it might bother others.  But I will plead with you, as I have on here before.  Please pray before you vote!  And listen to what God tells you…even if it goes against what you “think”…do what He knows.

8.5.13

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

6.24.13

Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

4.27.13

I am currently reading “The Power of a Woman’s Words” by Sharon Jaynes.  It is quite convicting and eye opening.  Sometimes I feel as though my opinion is necessary for others to hear so they can see every angle of a situation, see how someone may be hurt by their actions, or see how they may get hurt from someone else’s actions.  All this is true.  There are necessary times for these conversations.  However, I am a woman, and like many other women I like to know what is going on, have some control, be a protector, etc.  I have to learn that I do not need to know the details of every situation, I should never be in control of anything (that is God’s job) and while it is honorable to try to protect, I need to make sure I am not misguided in that approach or trying to take control.  What I need to focus on is using my words for good…building people up, encouraging those that drive me crazy, and speaking Biblical truth.  In other words I need to love others and speak to them as Jesus would.  No small task, but one I would like to improve on daily.

Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
