10.28.14

Yes I am still here!  Life just recently exploded (nothing serious, just time crunches all around)  🙂

First of all, I want to start with this verse that came in my email a few days ago.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  Hebrews 4:12

Talk about a convicting verse!  All of our thoughts and attitudes are judged by our SINLESS, PERFECT, Master and Creator.  If only we could remember that every day.  Remember that not only do we not have any right to judge another no matter how “bad” that person may seem, but how do we stand before our perfect maker knowing that He knows our innermost thoughts, feelings and secrets.  We are not called to judge, but we can hold each other accountable…there is a fine line there we must be careful not to cross.

Something else I have been convicted by for quite some time is prayer for children.  I have been a pro-life advocate for as long as I remember, but it goes beyond that.  We need to do everything we can for children all over the world.  Some of us can help them in a tangible way, some in a monetary way, some with prayer.  I feel that kids need to be the forefront of prayer…our own childrens’ eternity, babies not to be aborted, girls who are sold, children who are bullied, children who are abused, bullied, taken advantage of, and even killed.  Children need to know real love, real hope, real faith.  They need to know their loving Father through Him and through us, through prayers and through hugs, through warmth and through clothing, through kindness and through honesty, and through safety.  Let’s keep them in solid and consistent prayer.

Now, I also was supposed to put health and fitness on here too, so moving onto that, which is significantly less important than what I have typed above…BUT…we do need to take care of our temples, too…so here we go…

I have been doing pretty well with calories and workouts…I now have a Christmas party to add to the motivation list.  😉  Even if your calories don’t change, you will feel so much healthier if you switch soda for water and add some green veggies.  Health is the key, remember.  Health and toning is the goal!  If you have ever heard the saying “Abs are Made in the Kitchen” that is correct.  Granted you have a bit more leeway if you are working out hardcore, but part of being toned is what you put in your stomach.  Some foods will help shed fat, while others will put a nice fat layer over those muscles you worked so hard to achieve.  Switching up workouts also keeps your muscles on their toes.  I have been adding some cardio boxing into the mix, which has been great!  Constant moving, squats, arm and back muscles active, and very fun!

OK, off to tackle the day!  Enjoy yours!

Random Health Stuff

I have another favorite inner thigh exercise:

“hurts so good”

🙂

I also have another favorite low calorie drink:

Special K Protein Water mix…only 30 calories per packet and is protein and yummy.  🙂

And my 6 year old still has her baby belly a little bit, but since we have been eating less processed foods…it is starting to go away.  I am not at all at all at all interested in how much she ways, she is a kid, but it was just an interesting note to our healthier eating.

Back from Hiatus

My family and I went on a little adventure last week and it was pretty impossible to keep up on here as we didn’t bring computers along.

My kids had their first memorable airplane rides, went to a wedding and also the adoption day of my niece.  We saw lots of family we don’t get to see very often which is always a good thing.  🙂  On the down side, there were quite a few travel mishaps with plane delays, sitting on runways for an hour for 2 flights, lack of sleep and hotel mistakes.  With all the craziness the kids really were troopers.  A couple weepy times from lack of sleep but mostly on track the whole time…that makes travelling for parents much nicer!

Some trip fun facts:

  • sometimes it is easier to pull 2 roller suitcases with a child riding on each than it is to carry the non-roller huge bear of a suitcase
  • everywhere should have a free community splash pad where the kids can run around in their swimsuits and squirt each other and slide down mini water slides…no fear of drowning, but small chance of slipping and falling.
  • Chick Fil A lemonade is dye free but there is yellow dye in their vanilla ice cream.  😦
  • when given the choice to laugh or cry always laugh

Day 34

So I failed and ate bread today, which led me to crave more sugar, which led me to an utter failure in my calories intake and being sugar free.  I found out some interesting things though…

1.  I am not throwing in the towel BUT I am not starting my 30 days over either.  Today can go away and tomorrow will once again be day 9.

2.  My weigh in day was supposed to be Monday, but I did it today…before cheating…and…no change.  I was pretty bummed, but actually not too surprised since my clothes haven’t changed in how they fit.  By Day 34 I was hoping to be almost done with this weight loss and I am still at the same weight as when I started.

3.  Eating no added or unnatural sugars and living on lots of fruits, veggies and nuts must have shrunk my stomach a bit, because it was not ready for the sugar gorging that took place.  My stomach also doesn’t feel so well right now, so maybe that will help me to get immediately back on track tomorrow.

4.  My body fat percentage is happily set in the athletic category and has gone down a touch, so despite my weight staying the same, my body fat is going down.

5.  I can not eat just one of anything I have been denying my body…hence the downfall.

That’s all for today…am workout was 4 miles on elliptical and pm workout was weight training.

day 17, 18, 19

Tuesday was not a great day in terms of food…I ate a lot!  (grimace).  I did an ab routine and a shoulder lifting workout, which were good, but not surely not enough to equal out my feasting.  I was quite active in my daily life, so hopefully that helped a bit.  Water was also not good.

Wednesday was better with the food, but still not ideal.  My healthy mindset slipped a bit, but is back today.  Again I was busy all day, so hopefully that helped.  I also did much better with water and exercise.  My am workout was 4+ miles on the elliptical.  My pm workout was P90X shoulders and P90X ab ripper.

Today…water intake is good so far.  Calories are good so far.  I am on track for 1200 calories.  A significant decrease is much needed and still healthy!  My am workout was a lifting routine for the back.  This evening I will either do elliptical or Jillian thighs or another high interval leg workout…it is a leg day.  🙂   I am posting now to help me keep this day healthy.  Will only post again on today if I don’t keep hold of these goals.

Be back tomorrow!  🙂
